The best parts of the book for me were the exercises and the appendixes. This book could appeal to and be used by readers in different ways – you can browse the methodology, exercises, and appendixes to catch the highlights or if you are interested in the author’s thoughts regarding habit formation and behavior, then you can dive in for a deeper read. I did appreciate the simple and memorable ABC technique to focus on establishing new habits, however, for this type of book I am looking for something to quickly get me motivated and energized so I can get out there and start putting the ideas into practice. The examples and exercises were helpful and the fact that the exercises are laid out separately on colorful pages made finding the most helpful info easier when I found myself glossing over the hows and whys of motivation and ability. The book itself felt way too long and I ended up skimming it to get the gist of the actual methodology. I liked this book, but my biggest criticism is that it’s a simple and empowering idea laid out in a lengthy and more complicated format than it has to be.
